and......... still pregnant
Well, due date has now come and (almost) gone and still pregnant. No indication that this little guy is coming soon. I go to the dr. tomorrow for a non-stress test and ultrasound. If everything still looks ok, then the latest they will let me go is a week over. I would then be induced.... BRING IT ON!!!!

37 week check up
I went to the doctor this morning for my 37 week check up and all is well! Officially full term tomorrow (I am actually 36 weeks and 6 days today) I actually lost a pound this week, which means I have only gained 25 pounds in 37 weeks....not too shabby! Blood pressure and heart rate were all good and the midwife said I was measuring right on track. She doesn't think he's too big or too small, which is nice to hear. I was told last week that if my GBS culture came back negative, I could have the dr. strip my membranes next week, at my 38 week check. Well, I asked about GBS and they didn't know. It wasn't on the form in my chart so they were going to call and find out and hopefully when I go next week, it will be negative and the dr. will strip the membranes. I had this done with Madelyn and it didn't do anything to start labor, but I'm willing to try again. I really don't want to go over due, especially since Madelyn was big and I don't want this one to be big but we will just wait and see.
His room is finished, except to put two shelves on the wall and maybe a couple other decorations. I have all the clothes and blankets and burp clothes washed and ready to go. My hospital bag is packed and ready to go to. I realized today that I should probably pack a bag for Madelyn, in case she has to go to my in-laws house. I don't know when my parents will be here, so if I go into labor and no one is here for Mady, I will have to call my in laws and send her there for a little bit.
I guess that's all. Hopefully little guy will make his grand entrance soon.

terrible at updating!
I am terrible at updating this! Ooops, guess I need to remind myself to do it.
Anyway, not much going on here with baby #2. I went to a regular OB appointment yesterday and the dr said everything was looking great. I am measuing a week ahead but he thinks it's just because I am short and baby was sitting funny. He had a hard time measuring as little guy kept moving so he's not worried and neither am I. His heartbeat was nice and strong, once the dr could get it! Again, baby was moving so much he had a hard time keeping it long enough to get a good reading. Everytime he would put the dopplar on my stomach, the baby would move away. The dr would reposition the dopplar and baby would move again :) But he calmed down and Dr. Kelley was finally able to get a satisfactory reading. He said I am doing great, my blood count is great, weight gain is great (23 pounds in almost 33 weeks!) and no swelling or high blood pressure. I can't belive I will be 33 weeks on Sunday! This is going so fast! It helps that I have been really busy lately so that makes time seem to go faster. I don't mind. I can't wait to meet this little guy and finally give him a name. I just hope he doesn't wait til after his due date to be born! Probably going to be a big baby like Madelyn (she was 8 lbs 11 oz but no one belived that until they weighed her a couple of times!)
My next appointment is in 2 weeks and then I think I go every week from there. Not too much longer now! I feel a little better now that we have the crib up and Matt is putting the dresser together today or this weekend. Then I can get things organized, clean up baby's room and make sure everything is ready. We have been so blessed with people giving us clothes and blankets and what not for baby. I have so much stuff from newborn-6 months that I won't have to buy him anything!
We have decided to use cloth diapers for this little one. I know so many people who use them and it's so easy and way cheaper too! After today, I will have 17 cloth diapers and inserts (plus extra inserts too) and spent about $200. That will last until he's potty trained! These diapers are amazing and I am so grateful to Rebekah (my awesome best friend in Indiana) for taking the time to teach me about them when I visited last month. One website that she showed me sells gently used cloth diapers (I know it sounds gross, but let me explain). These diapers have no stains, no odors, nothing wrong with them and you can get them for almost half price! What an awesome deal! Yes, you know you're a mom when you get excited about diapers :) I think we could easily spend $200 plus on disposables just in 2 months or so, plus the expense of diaper pail liners, all the trash that we would have and what not. This way, I just wash them and re-use and no problem!
I've also been finding recipes for homemade laundry detergent. I'm trying to cut back on our grocery cost as I will be going part time after the baby is born and I want to find ways to save money (hence cloth diapers). I have found several that I want to try. Although I am a little confused, some of them say they are for cloth diapers but the website I buy the diapers from doesn't recommend home made detergent. Anyway, I found one recipe that costs $6.50 total, for 3 ingredients and will make 140 loads of laundry. That's $0.05 per load! I can handle that!

It's a......
BOY! We found out on September 29th that we are going to be blessed with a little boy this time! We are so excited! Matt and I met at my dr's office and went in for the ultrasound. The lady asked us if we wanted to know what we were having and of course, we did. I am too impatient to wait! She started the machine and immediately told us it was a boy! He was moving all over the place so we took her word for it. When he finally calmed down, she showed us again and sure enough, a little boy is in our family now!
I am officially 25 weeks now, which means if he was born today, he would have a pretty good chance of surviving because his lungs are now secreting Surfactant (stuff that keeps the lungs open). Obviously we want him to grown a while longer but we're breathing a sigh of relief that we hit this milestone!
He is now the size of an eggplant, according to thebump.com. It's fun getting emails with up to date development and growth to see how he's doing and what's going on in there. I feel him kicking a lot and Matt has actually felt him too! Madelyn would stop kicking whenever Matt tried to feel her move so it's nice he actually has felt him now. Madelyn has even felt him, although I amnot sure she understands. Her head was laying on my stomach one night after work and he kicked her and her eyes got really big! She looked at me and said, "what's that????" I told her it was baby brother kicking her and she yelled, "No kicking!!!" to my stomach! She's already bossing him around!

boy or girl?
What's your guess??? Tomorrow at 4pm is our big ultrasound. Ideally, we are praying for a healthy, happy baby and that's it. I really have no idea if this baby is a boy or girl. With Madelyn, I felt like she was a girl the whole time. This time, I honestly don't know. If I go by the Old Wives Tale of having a higher heart rate, then it's another girl. If I go by the fact that this is a completely different pregnancy, then it's a boy! Ahh!!! I can't wait to find out!

14 weeks and feeling HUGE!
I don't have a picture yet but I am 14 weeks this week (14 weeks, 1 day today) and I already feel so big! I know they say the second baby pops alot sooner but this is crazy! I can still wear my regular clothes, but I have gotten out some maternity shirts so I don't stretch out my regular ones.
So far, still pretty tired but the nausea/morning sickness seems to have gotten a little better. I still need to eat something every couple of hours but it's not too bad.
Next dr. appointment is in a week and a half, next Wednesday. I will be just over 15 weeks so I am sure at the end of the appt. I will get to schedule my formal ultrasound! I can't wait to find out what we're having!
